Brett Bauer, Principal Wins the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs’ 2023 Young Leader Award
McKonly & Asbury is pleased to announce that Principal Brett Bauer was recently awarded the 2023 Young Leader Award presented by the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA). Brett accepted his award at PICPA’s 126th Annual Meeting & Celebration on May 17th, along with 16 other award winners. PICPA’s annual Young Leader Awards are granted to members who are committed accounting professionals under 40 that are also active participants in PICPA activities or community volunteer opportunities.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a young leader by the PICPA, which is a fantastic organization that is helping the accounting profession thrive here in the state of Pennsylvania,” Brett said. “I am fortunate to work at a firm that prioritizes volunteerism and grateful for the many great leaders at McKonly & Asbury that I look up to who serve our community.”
Brett’s PICPA participation includes Chair of the Manufacturing Thought Leadership Committee for 2 of his 3 years of service. He also wrote the blog article “The Big Issues in Manufacturing Tackled at PICPA Conference” for PICPA last year as well as facilitated a “Future of Manufacturing” panel discussion during the December 15, 2022, PICPA Manufacturing Conference.

Brett has over 12 years of progressive accounting career experience and was promoted to Principal in record time due to his exemplary technical accounting skills, leadership skills, and sound judgment. Brett leads the Assurance and Advisory Committee. He is responsible for the training, development, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements for a team of approximately 45 individuals who conduct over 400 audits annually. He is also leading the firm’s initiative in implementing the new leasing standard across our assurance client base.
