What Does an Externship or Internship with McKonly & Asbury Look Like?

McKonly & Asbury offers both an externship and internship program. These programs are meant to prepare students with realistic expectations about a career in accounting along with a glimpse into the culture at M&A. Andrew Puleo, a recent graduate of both the Externship and Internship program who is now a staff accountant, has this to say:

“The externship and internship here at McKonly were able to prepare me well for my first year as a full-time staff member. I’ve really enjoyed it thus far.”

Another recent addition as staff accountant to the team is Sophia Thomas.

Externship

The program consists of events that take place in May through July. During the course of the events, each extern will be assigned a buddy – a McKonly & Asbury staff member. Registration for the 2023 program will open in the spring of 2023.

Throughout your time with us, you will:

• Gain valuable career information while shadowing your buddy and other staff members.
• Have networking opportunities with our team.
• Participate in professional skills development and mock interviews, receiving feedback from our leadership team.
• Experience our unique culture.

• June- Leadership Educational Mini-Summit
• June- Mock Interviews and Job Shadowing
• July- Program Wrap-up Picnic

Internship

McKonly & Asbury’s Internship Program is designed to give you a feel for what it is like to work at McKonly & Asbury. We design our internship experience to allow students to put their education to use while they take advantage of the opportunity to develop relationships within the Firm and with our clients. These positions allow students to put their education to use and include training and use of various software packages, including specific audit and tax software. McKonly & Asbury offers internships in both our Assurance (Audit) and Tax practices to ensure you experience the area that is of most interest to you. This is a paid position. Internship positions run from January-April and June-August every year, and we are currently hiring for 2023 positions.
