Remembering Henry McKonly, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of our founding partners, Henry McKonly, Jr. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Henry’s family during this difficult time.

As we celebrate our 50^th anniversary this year, we pause to reflect on Henry’s contributions as a co-founder of McKonly & Asbury. His vision, passion, and unwavering commitment played an instrumental role in shaping our firm into what it is today. It is impossible to quantify the impact Henry had on our company.

Henry is remembered fondly by Clarence Asbury, co-founder of the firm,

“When the firm of McKonly & Asbury started it was first about taking care of family. First the family, if you are ok at home, that will come to work with you. Next was to take care of the employees, because if you take care of the employees, they will take care of the clients. It was very important for Henry to be open to all ideas and be part of the team, and to never ask an employee to do something that he would not do. We worked well together and could share our thoughts and ideas openly. “Be positive and open” was Henry’s mantra.”

Henry was more than a business partner; he was a mentor, a community leader, and an innovator. His leadership style, marked by integrity, innovation, and genuine concern for the well-being of every team member, set the standard for excellence. Henry fostered a culture of collaboration and dedication that is still felt throughout the offices today.

“We were all saddened to hear the news of Henry’s passing” said Michael Hoffner, Managing Partner at McKonly & Asbury. “While most of our current team never had the opportunity to interact with Henry, all of us are the beneficiaries of the vision he and Clarence Asbury cast 50 years ago when they founded this firm.  As we celebrate our 50^th Anniversary this year, we are celebrating the legacy he created. Henry will be missed, but we will do our best to ensure we continue to reflect his vision and his values on the communities in which we work and live.”
