Webinar – Ethical Dilemmas and War Stories: What Would You Do?
McKonly & Asbury is pleased to announce our next webinar entitled “Ethical Dilemmas and War Stories: What Would You Do?” This webinar will take place on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
This webinar will be hosted by Camico Mutual Insurance Company’s Loss Prevention Manager and Accounting and Auditing Specialist, Duncan Will.
Ethical dilemmas are often recognized too late. The landscape for CPAs is more dangerous when clients or third parties push the boundaries. The traps are frequently difficult to perceive, and more dangerous if the accountant has started down the slippery slope of rationalization. This presentation will use CAMICO “war stories” and Loss Prevention “Hotline” inquiries to bring to life these traps and often overlooked ethical requirements. Requirements clarified will include the AICPA Code of Conduct, U.S. Treasury Circular 230 and the AICPA’s Conceptual Framework.
This presentation is intended to raise awareness and trigger an enlightening discussion regarding ethical dilemmas facing today’s CPA. The course will highlight war stories from CAMICO’s claims files, offer lessons learned from peer review, and recommend practices to reduce risk exposures associated with ethical challenges facing CPAs in public practice.
During this webinar, attendees can expect to learn about the following:
- Discover the current trends in common client and personnel “dilemmas” for CPA firms
- Hear current juries’ view regarding the “duties and responsibilities” of the CPA
- Listen to recent CAMICO war stories
- Learn practical loss prevention tips to help professionals reduce risk when faced with these “dilemmas” and challenges
