McKonly & Asbury’s September webinar entitled, “Ethics: A Focus on the 7 Threats” took place on Thursday, September 26, 2019. The webinar was hosted by Michael Hoffner, Partner and Co-Director of the Assurance practice, and Janice Snyder, Partner and Co-Director of the Assurance practice.
This ethics webinar focused on the 7 threats that could compromise a CPA’s compliance with the AICPA code of professional conduct. Many threats fall into one or more of the following seven broad categories: adverse interest, advocacy, familiarity, management participation, self-interest, self-review, and undue influence.
During this webinar, attendees:
- Understood the 7 threats to compliance with the code of professional conduct.
- Were provided examples of each of the 7 threats: adverse interest, advocacy, familiarity, management participation, self-interest, self-review, and undue influence.
- Evaluated the 3 broad categories of safeguards that may be put in place to reduce the risk of non-compliance triggered by the 7 threats.
This free, one hour-long webinar took place on Thursday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. EST. One “Ethics” CPE credit was available for this webinar. The level for this CPE was intermediate. This program was a live webinar which offered the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenters.
