2019 State Taxes: Pennsylvania Update and the Multistate Tax Climate

McKonly & Asbury’s June webinar entitled, “2019 State Taxes: Pennsylvania Update and the Multistate Tax Climate” took place on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. The webinar was hosted by Mark Heath, Partner and Director of Tax Services at McKonly & Asbury, and Lindsey Waltemyer, Tax Supervisor.

This webinar provided an overview of tax provisions from the ’19-’20 Pennsylvania budget, along with an update on recent PA Department of Revenue activity. We looked at how PA compares to other states in various types of taxes. On a national level, we looked at the evolving area of how states are reacting to federal tax reform, and the reaction to the groundbreaking Wayfair ruling last year.

John Beck, Director of Market Strategy and Sharon Cody, Partnership Manager from Harbor Compliance joined us for a portion of the webinar and offered continued discussion on the Wayfair ruling. They also explained foreign entity qualification, reviewed how to go about registering as well as annual report requirements.

During this webinar, attendees:

  • Gained an understanding of the current PA budget provisions, recent tax updates specific to Pennsylvania, and how PA compares to other states.
  • Were updated on how various states are reacting to federal tax changes and national trends in sales tax nexus.
  • Were updated from Harbor Compliance on foreign entity qualification and annual report requirements.

This free, one hour-long webinar took place on Wednesday, June 26th at 2:00 p.m. EST. One “Tax” CPE credit was available for this webinar. The level for this CPE was basic. This program was a live webinar which offered you the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenters.
