Not-For-Profit Organizations: Lessons Learned from Implementation of the New Financial Reporting Standard

McKonly & Asbury’s July webinar entitled, “Not-For-Profit Organizations: Lessons Learned from Implementation of the New Financial Reporting Standard” took place on Thursday, July 25, 2019. The webinar was hosted by Gary Dubas, Partner and Director of McKonly & Asbury’s Nonprofit Practice, Janice Snyder, Partner and Co-Director of the Assurance Practice, and Jim Shellenberger, Principal and Leader in the Nonprofit Practice.

Webinar presenters reviewed the implementation challenges of ASU 2016-14, including examples and best practices. A portion of the webinar was a live Q&A format where participants had the opportunity to ask presenters specific questions about ASU 2016-14, as well as the significant accounting changes coming over the next few years, including but not limited to revenue recognition and leases. Participants were encouraged to send questions to the presenters in advance during the registration process. These questions helped develop and shape the items to cover. Questions were related to ASU 2016-14, along with other standard impacting not-for-profit organizations.

During this webinar, attendees:

  • Gained a deeper understanding of the requirements of ASU 2016-14
  • Learned best practices, tips, and items to consider during the implementation of the new nonprofit reporting standards
  • Were given a preview of some of the challenges coming down the road related to nonprofit accounting and reporting

This free, one hour-long webinar took place on Thursday, July 25th at 2:00 p.m. EST. One “A&A” CPE credit was available for this webinar. The level for this CPE was intermediate. This program was a live webinar which offers you the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenters.
