McKonly & Asbury, founded in 1973, is one of Pennsylvania’s most respected accounting and consulting firms. We are assisting one of our clients in the wealth management and insurance business in their search for an experienced Senior Wealth Planning Strategist. Our client is privately held and operates from their headquarter location in the Lehigh Valley.
The Senior Wealth Planning Strategist develops, consults on and implements tax, estate and business plans for clients, often in complex situations. By analyzing relevant financial, legal, and tax information, this role is part of the team that supports more than 300 privately held businesses, families and individuals for more than 35 years. These clients rely on this counsel to produce actionable plans.
Modeling the scenarios that result from this type of planning is a significant portion of this role. Using Excel or existing templates, models are produced to help clients evaluate plans. This role helps to communicate potential wealth, estate, trust, financial and insurance impact to clients, and the successful candidate will be familiar with a wide variety of planning techniques, including more sophisticated ones as client situations merit.
The most important qualification technically for the successful candidate will be demonstrated experience working within estate planning environments. Communication skills are also critical, as this position will interact with clients, and their professional staffs which include attorneys, CPA’s etc. Our client prefers a minimum of a four-year degree in a related major, and a graduate degree or certification in finance (MSF), financial planning (MFP), taxation (MT), law (JD, LLM) or a related field. Credentials that would also be beneficial are AEP, RICP, WMCP, or CPA.
The client’s work environment is one where hard work and honest feedback amongst team members is the norm. Significant interaction takes places with co-workers; as such an individual that is a highly effective team player and one that can manage multiple tasks simultaneously will thrive. While a hybrid work schedule would be the norm, client and team meetings will require limited regional travel.
Our client provides a competitive compensation package commensurate with the criticality of this role, which includes excellent benefits and paid vacation.
